Letter from Dan Knepp to Ruth Andre

(Postmarked Peoria, Illinois 8:30 PM, July 2, 1936 and addressed to Miss Ruth Andre at 1714 1/2 So Main, Burlington, Iowa, c/o George Henson)

Thur Eve.

Sweetheart,
As for being lonesome I don't know if I can stand it till Saturday.
I don't like to have you so far away from me, but have a nice time sweet. You better see Ev long enough to be sure.
I was so lonesome yesterday that I couldn't wait till I got home to see you. Then when Soaf told me you went to Burlington I just about fell over.
Your not the only one that found out how lonesome you get. I'm so lonesome I can hardly work.
Did you get my letter I wrote yesterday? I put the wrong house number on it. I think it was 1210 1/2 instead of 1714 1/2.
The only thing that was the matter with me was plain old fashioned gas.
I haven't laughed so much since Tues night as I did when I read Mother's card. Honey if you only knew how much I miss you and how much I love you, you wouldn't put Be Good on the end of your letter because I stayed home last night and I am going to stay home tonight & tomorrow night.
You said in the letter that it was terrible mushy letter but it was awfully good to my poor heart.
About the minister we can find one as soon as you hit Peoria if you haven't changed your mind.
I have been worrying awfully since you left. Will tell you when you get home.
Sweet, I love you so much that I can hardly do anything. If you are half as sweet to Gardner as you are to me I don't blame him for not wanting to lose you.
If you come in Friday night do you want me to come down to the Station and meet you, call me when you get in if you do.
I hate to close but I have to take Soaf down to the drug store.
Well Sweetheart I hope to see you soon. I love you and I miss you terribly.
With loads of love
Danny
I AM GOOD

P.S. COME HOME SOON
